Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Neuro/General Surgery)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 36 Hours/Week | Holiday Rotation Required | Weekend Requirement: 3–4 shifts per 4-week schedule

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 25-bed mixed neurosurgery and general surgery unit, including patients with and without a stepdown component
• Manage a patient assignment of up to 1:5 ratio, dependent on staffing needs
• Float within clinical scope to support facility staffing needs as required
• Accurately document patient care and clinical assessments using EPIC electronic health records
• Participate in holiday rotation and weekend shift requirements per unit scheduling guidelines
• Respond to emergency response team assignments as directed during hurricane season (June–November)

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN License or Multi-State/Compact State RN License (SC license must be active prior to start date)
• Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to complete pre-start compliance requirements on time, including all required labs within 72 hours of signing if within 90 days of start date

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Neurology or neurosurgery nursing experience
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or experience
