divh2Medical Assistant/h2pAs a Medical Assistant, your excellent customer service and communication skills directly affect patient care as well as ensuring day to day office operations run smoothly./ph3Responsibilities:/h3ulliConduct pre-visit planning, close care gaps, and complete health maintenance and registry work./liliObtain and document patient vital signs, history, and screenings; promptly report abnormalities./liliPerform EKGs, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and collect/process specimens for external testing./liliAssist providers and nursing staff during procedures and clinical care activities./liliReview and pend medication refills and provider orders; assist with prior authorizations and patient forms./liliProvide patient education and instructions under provider or RN guidance./liliMaintain exam/treatment rooms and equipment, including stocking, cleaning, calibration, and sterilization preparation./liliOrder and track clinical supplies; assemble information packets and support provider communications./li/ululliSupport patient flow through check-in/check-out, scheduling, referrals, insurance verification, and phone management./liliFacilitate communication with patients, including mailing provider updates and assisting with MyCare sign-up./liliEscort patients to ancillary services (e.g., lab, radiology) as needed./li/ululliManage medical records through abstraction, scanning, and filing of health maintenance and test reports./liliCompile data from patient records for quality assurance and improvement activities when requested./liliProcess payments and charge entry; manage non-clinical office supplies and distribute mail./liliPerform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth practice operations./li/ulh3Preferred Qualifications:/h3ulliAssociates degree preferred./lili2 years of pre-hospital care activities or acute/critical care experience preferred/liliStrong customer service, computer, and communication skills/liliMedical Assistant Certification preferred/liliFor Elder ONE Employment: 1 year experience with frail, elderly population preferred/li/ulh3Education:/h3pLICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:/ph3Physical Requirements:/h3pM - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting./ppFor disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements./ppAny physical requirements reported by a prospective employee and/or employees physician or delegate will be considered for accommodations./ph3Pay Range:/h3p$17.85 - $19.50/ppRochester Regional Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
