Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Description Job Description Direct Counsel is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join a respected national law firm in its Seattle office. This opportunity is ideal for a junior associate (1–4 years of experience) interested in working on complex litigation matters, particularly representing public agency clients in a collaborative and dynamic environment. Position Overview: The associate will work on a diverse range of litigation matters, supporting public sector clients across various stages of litigation. This role offers hands-on experience, early responsibility, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to case strategy and execution. Key Responsibilities: Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda Assist with case strategy, fact development, and trial preparation Manage multiple assignments and deadlines efficiently Collaborate closely with partners and team members on active matters Qualifications: J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials 1–4 years of litigation experience Demonstrated experience with legal research, writing, and drafting litigation documents Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Admission to the Washington State Bar is required Experience or interest in eminent domain law is a plus Compensation & Benefits: The expected salary range for this position is $190,000 to $220,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Associates are eligible for annual bonuses, including a performance-based bonus of up to 15% of base salary upon meeting the 1,850 billable hours target (which includes up to 100 hours of approved pro bono work).
