Location: 7600 Better Way, Frisco, TX 75033 Department: Invasive Cardiology Position: Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Shift: Days – 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. with rotating day off. Required Experience: One year in Cath Lab or EP, or two years in IR Lab. Preferred Experience: Two or more years in Cath Lab or EP. Orientation will be held at the Heart Hospital Plano location: 1100 Allied Drive, Plano, TX 75093. Job Summary The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist assists physicians during catheterization and electrophysiology procedures, preparing rooms and equipment, instructing patients, monitoring their condition, and providing routine and emergency care. The role includes contribution to training of team members and participation in quality control initiatives. Essential Functions Assists physicians with arteriograms, catheterizations, permanent pacemaker implantations, implantable cardiac defibrillators, diagnostic and interventional procedures, and peripheral and coronary interventions. Follows radiation protection regulations, providing emergency procedures like CPR and defibrillation as needed. Performs pre‑ and post‑procedure care and monitoring, and orients patients for procedures. Monitors ECG, pressures, temperature, and impedances in the EP lab and notifies physician of variances. Operates RF/Cryo ablation systems, 3D mapping, and records procedural documentation. Manages and maintains imaging data for cardiac and peripheral cases. Collects registry and quality data, prepares reports, and maintains sterile fields. Orders and inventories procedure room supplies, ensuring equipment is stocked and nonexpired. Performs routine equipment calibration and maintenance, notifying team for repairs. Provides orientation and training for new staff and assists on additional duties as directed. Monitors quality initiatives, including NPSG auditing and performance improvement. Participates in departmental, hospital, and professional committees; leads LEAN, NOBLE, 5S projects as required. Assists with patient transport and demonstrates good customer service. Key Success Factors Education and/or experience includes an associate’s degree, completion of a US military training program, or two years of related cardiovascular lab experience. Availability for on‑call response per department policy. Knowledge of complex invasive cardiac and vascular instrumentation and techniques. Understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology. Qualifications Education: Associate’s degree in a related field. Required Experience: One year in Cath Lab or EP, or two years in IR Lab. Preferred Experience: Two or more years in Cath Lab or EP. Certification / License / Registration ACLS – within 30 days of hire. BLS – within 30 days of hire. Applicable ARRT, CCDS, CEPS, MRT, RCES, or RCIS certifications. Must meet one of: ARRT‑R and MRT through Texas Medical Board, or RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or CCDS.
