Dimensional Metrology Engineer – CMM/PPAP

Location: Tecumseh, MI | Company: Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS)

Why this role?

• You’ll be the technical owner for CMM programming and dimensional validation that keeps new launches and ongoing production on spec.
• You’ll drive calibration rigor, PPAP readiness, and continuous improvement in an automotive manufacturing environment.

What will you own?

• Programming/operating CMMs, including Direct Computer Control (D.C.C.) routines for part and fixture layouts.
• Calibration of new fixtures and measuring instruments; labeling, location assignment, and inventory management.
• Disposition of obsolete fixtures and instruments to storage with proper records.
• Input on fixture design—bring metrology insights to design meetings.
• CMM reporting and conversion to AIAG format with the Quality Specialist.
• GP6 part preparation and documentation; report completion per procedure.
• PPAP layouts along with customer- or plant-requested layouts to support improvements.
• Annual dimensional layouts, capability analyses, and statistical studies.
• Participation on the Internal Audit Team; support for Lab activities and teammates.
• Other duties as assigned by management; uphold a safe, orderly workplace consistent with 5S and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Do you have the background?

• Proven CMM programming and operations experience.
• Advanced GD&T knowledge; confident with engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Calibration know-how for fixtures and precision measurement tools.
• Automotive quality systems and manufacturing experience; stamping/welding familiarity preferred.

Key skills

• Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 .
• Manufacturing and quality process fluency; analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving strength.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) and CAD applications.
• Clear communication and presentation abilities.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and sound technical decision-making.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced plant environment; effective cross-functional teamwork.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
