The ideal candidate must be a current Licensed Respiratory Care Provider with the State of Illinois, be a graduate of an AMA approved school, and hold a valid CPR Certification. Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Department: Respiratory Status: PRN (as needed) Schedule: Days 6am-6:30pm or Nights 6pm-6:30am Summary/Objective Provides Respiratory care and procedures for patients of all ages. Expected to know all equipment in detail, including the functions, indications for use and physiological effect on the patient. Responds to emergencies throughout the facility. Prioritizes patient care and responsibilities. Performs procedures of respiratory care accurately and completely. Teaches patients and/or significant others and share knowledge with other disciplines. Participates in performance improvement efforts. Interprets data and identifies patient requirements relative to age specific needs. Inputs data correctly in our computer system. Delivers care to patients from infancy through geriatrics. Understands and reacts effectively to the unique needs of each patient. Administers respiratory medications and treatments. Evaluates patient response to interventions and acts accordingly. Communicates effectively with peers, team members, patients, visitors & others. Participates in required continuing education. Demonstrates vigilance in administration of medications and treatments. Must have the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities. Licenses/Certifications State of Illinois Respiratory Care Provider. CPR certification.
