About the Facility JFK Memorial Hospital is a 145-bed acute-care hospital in Indio, California, and part of Tenet Healthcare California. The hospital is a Level IV Trauma Center with 24/7 emergency services and a broad range of inpatient and specialty care offerings. Key services include: 24/7 Emergency Department Primary Stroke Center Cardiovascular Services (Chest Pain Accredited) Orthopedic and Joint Replacement Services Imaging and Interventional Radiology Maternity and Pediatric Services The hospital is fully accredited by The Joint Commission . Position Summary SAMGI is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Trauma Surgeon to provide trauma and acute surgical coverage at JFK Memorial Hospital. This role is part of SAMGI’s surgical hospitalist / trauma program , delivering consistent, high-quality trauma coverage through a shift-based model . This opportunity offers predictable scheduling, competitive per-shift compensation, and the support of an established national surgical organization. Responsibilities Provide trauma surgery coverage for a Level IV Trauma Center Evaluate and manage trauma patients in the emergency department and inpatient settings Perform operative and non-operative trauma care as indicated Collaborate closely with emergency medicine, anesthesia, ICU, and hospital staff Participate in call coverage during assigned shifts Deliver timely, safe, and compliant patient care in alignment with SAMGI and hospital standards Schedule & Compensation Compensation: $3,000 per shift Annual Commitment: 104 shifts per year Shift-based schedule with defined coverage expectations Qualifications MD or DO Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery ATLS required (or ability to obtain) Active California medical license or ability to obtain Ability to obtain hospital privileges and credentialing Practice Model Employed or independent contractor arrangement through SAMGI (structure dependent on final agreement) Malpractice coverage provided in accordance with SAMGI policy Administrative, scheduling, and operational support provided by SAMGI #J-18808-Ljbffr Surgical Affiliates Management Group, Inc.
