Sanitation Teammate FT - Commissary

Pay starts at $23-$26 per hour.

SUMMARY

Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and food-safe environment within the commissary through cleaning and sanitizing equipment, surfaces, and tools in accordance with SSOPs and company standards.

Properly disassembles, cleans, and reassembles food production equipment to ensure hygienic and efficient operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position may include other duties as assigned:

• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of food production equipment, utensils, and facility surfaces in compliance with SSOPs.
• Safely disassemble and reassemble complex equipment for thorough cleaning.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures when handling equipment with mechanical or electrical components.
• Apply cleaning and sanitizing agents per established dilution ratios and chemical handling protocols.
• Complete pre-operational sanitation and inspection checklists; communicate findings to Supervisors or QA.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of sanitation supply areas and tools.
• Monitor chemical usage and storage per safety standards.
• Remove waste, rinse and sanitize surfaces, and ensure allergen segregation is followed.
• Assist in end-of-shift cleanup and production line changeovers.
• Follow all GMPs, PPE standards, and company safety policies.
• Report any food safety, quality, or GMP concerns to Supervisors or FSQA immediately.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and allergen control practices.
• Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Dependable, consistent attendance and task completion.
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills and a safety-first mindset.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous sanitation experience in food manufacturing or commissary preferred.
• Comfortable handling cleaning chemicals and disassembling mechanical components.
• Ability to read and follow safety instructions, SSOPs, and batch documentation.

• Sanitation tools: hoses, foaming units, scrub brushes, and squeegees
• Disassembly tools: wrenches, screwdrivers, hand tools (as trained)
• Floor cleaning machines and waste disposal systems
• Chemical dispensing equipment
• PPE including gloves, safety glasses, ear protection, and aprons
