Learn more about MATC at Under the supervision of the Student Life Manager, the Coordinatoris responsible for largely focusing on the planning, scheduling,organizing, and coordinating and delivery of student activities.This position will conduct investigations of student misconduct andother complaints. Interfaces regularly with the downtown campusStudent Senate members Work is generally diversified requiringknowledge of student services using good judgment in analysis anddecisions within the established procedures. Supervision receivedis general in nature and daily responsibilities are completedindependently with supervisor interaction limited to strategicplanning, unusual conditions, and problem situations. Assists Director with investigations of student grievances ofstudents or staff and student. Coordinates district-wide student events and activities incollaboration with students. Advises Milwaukee campus Student Senate. Oversees the day-to-day management of the U-Pass Program. Adheres to a team concept and follows established departmentalroutines and procedures. Serves as Student Life representative on campus councils andcommittees. Advocates for the co-curricular needs of students, leadingefforts to promote holistic student development and ensuring astudent learning and development approach to events and activitiesthat are responsive to student interests and needs. Participates in developing student learning outcomes and toolsto effectively assess student activities and events. Establishes, maintains, and enhances positive workrelationships staff, faculty, the district, local and externalagencies, and the community. Participates in meetings, workshops, seminars, and otherprofessional activities. Coordinates departmental services and resources. Practices honesty by demonstrating a consistent anduncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles,values, truthfulness and accuracy in all actions. Acts and speaks consistent with, and in support of, MATC’sMission, Vision, and Values. Addresses all student and employee behavior in a confidentialand respectful manner. Performs other related duties as required for the efficientoperations of the department. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Compliance with all state, federal, and accreditationstandards/requirements, as well as all MATC policies andprocedures. Required Education and Experience Associate’s degree in Student Affairs, Education or related fieldwith emphasis in communications. With Associate : Three (3) years of experience. Related experienceincludes: Experience in communications or related field. Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree is preferred. With Bachelors : One (1) year ofexperience. Preferred License/Certification CPR/First Aid Certification. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge and ability to conduct student activities on/offcampus. Knowledge and ability to handle internal investigations of ahighly confidential nature. General knowledge of community based organizations/agenciesstructures and services. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite includingExcel and Word and other software applications. Ability to establish, collaborate and maintain effective workrelationships with staff, faculty and, representatives of outsideagencies. Ability to work with culturally diverse student and employeepopulations. Ability to organize, analyze and interpret statistical andmanagement data. Ability to work independently on multiple projects, meet alldeadlines, and coordinate activities to achieve specificcommunication, marketing and institutional goals andobjectives. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and relate wellwith students, parents, faculty, staff, and others whilemaintaining appropriate confidentiality. Hours This position is a full-time position (year-round)and works 40 hours a week (e.g. 8am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday).in-person. All work must be performed in the state ofWisconsin. Compensation Hourly pay rates are listed up to the midpointof the range and placement is determined based on years ofexperience, internal equity, and a review of the applicant'semployment and educational background as listed on the jobapplication.
