Summary of Job Duties:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for maintaining inventory control of the incoming and outgoing supplies and parts. This position will maintain warehouse parts and supply organization including labeling and determination of location. Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk purchases supplies from local vendors and delivers them to University Housing's warehouse and various places on campus. This position is required to follow efficiency guidelines set by the supervisor to ensure efficient driving routes and proper usage of vehicle time. In addition, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk displays the professional image of the University by maintaining good relationships with all external business contacts and maintains knowledge of campus delivery zones, traffic flows, building accesses, and storage areas. This position involves frequent heavy lifting and applicants selected for an interview will be required to demonstrate their ability to lift and carry 80 lbs. Other duties as directed by Management.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least three years of experience in inventory control, stock room operations, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, or a related field
• Fork Lift Certification

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of packaging, shipping and receiving procedures, rules and regulations
• Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to read packing slips and confirm deliveries
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations
• Ability to monitor supply levels and notify purchasing assistant
• Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 4 hours)
• Ability to perform manual labor under varying working conditions using necessary tools and equipment, including pallet jack and forklift
• Ability to, push and/or pull carts, in excess, of 50 lbs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs. unassisted
• Ability to handle frequent to continuous bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, lifting and/or twisting
• Ability to use fingers to grip, grasp, squeeze and move materials, parts, and products
• Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computer and copier
