Position Overview:
We are seeking talented and motivated marine designers and drafters to support the development of autonomous surface vessels. This role will provide hands-on experience in traditional vessel design and advanced autonomous technologies; driving impact in defense innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Support new vessel construction through detailed 2D and 3D modeling and technical drawing production
- Create and modify ship construction drawings
- Work directly with naval architects, marine engineers, and electrical engineers on new vessel design implementation
- Maintain strict drawing standards
- Create documentation for marine regulatory compliance
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology or similar field of study
- Minimum 3 – 5 years of CAD drafting experience
- Strong fundamentals in one or more areas of vessel design: general design, mechanical design, electrical design, structural design, and piping design
- Knowledge of maritime regulatory requirements, construction tolerances, and vessel construction processes and sequences
- Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software like NX, ShipConstructor, AutoCAD, and Rhino

Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional standing and walking within the office.
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- Visual acuity to read screens, documents, and reports.
- Occasional reaching, bending, or stooping to access file drawers, cabinets, or office supplies.
- Lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, packages).
