Swim Program Coordinator and Head Coach

Position Summary: The Aquatics Program Coordinator and Head Coach provides overall leadership, administration, and coaching for the SCRA Aquatics Program. This position is responsible for developing athletes, leading and supporting coaches, overseeing program operations, delivering exceptional member service, and maintaining compliance with Stanford University and USA Swimming standards. This onsite position requires the ability to balance coaching excellence with administrative responsibilities and staff leadership while demonstrating professionalism, accountability, sound judgment, effective communication, and a collaborative, solution-oriented approach. The incumbent represents Stanford Recreation & Wellness with integrity and responds constructively to challenges in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities Core Duties: Promote wellness programs to individuals through active, ongoingcommunications including, but not limited to, departmental talks, emaildistribution, mail distribution of class flyers, website development andparticipation in benefits and wellness fairs. Implement, administer, and evaluate day-to-day operations ofwellness program(s); solve problems and make decisions that impact thedirection of the program. Collect and analyze data, create reports, review, and explaintrends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendcurriculum changes to achieve the goals of the wellnessprogram. Provide counseling to individuals on wellness activities andprograms. Develop health education content for flyers andbrochures. Represent the program to internal and external constituenciesthrough lectures, presentations, department meetings and professionalconferences. May hire, orient and provide ongoing training and directsupervision to wellness program staff. May oversee the coordination of group fitness and healthy livingclasses including planning and scheduling classes for the upcomingquarter, coordinating facility use and instructor resources, purchasingand maintaining equipment used in classes and qualityassurance. May draft and oversee budgets and monitor and approveexpenditures. Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience or acombination of relevant education and relevant experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience in health promotion and/or wellness coaching. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communicationskills. Superb attention to detail. Experience with MS Office products and databaseapplications. Excellent interpersonal skills and customer servicefocus. Demonstrated ability to prioritize own work andmulti-task. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership ofprojects. Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment inmaking decisions. Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of ateam. Relevant subject matter knowledge.
