Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/20/2026 Duration: 8 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ICU Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in a cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVI ICU). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing complex cardiovascular cases and demonstrate expertise in critical care settings. Position Details Start Date: As soon as possible Shift: 12-hour night shifts Unit: ICU-CVICU Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holidays: Required to work on Memorial Day Orientation: 8 hours of non-billable orientation Floating: May float to various ICUs as needed Experience Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in Cardiovascular ICU Must pass an EKG test with a score of 80% or above Charge experience is preferred License and Certification Requirements Active Illinois nursing license CPR certification ACLS certification NIHSS certification Epic experience is required Required Skills Expertise in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Knowledge of multi-system organ failure and thermoregulation Experience with CABG, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, and Impella Post cardiac surgery care (not directly from the OR) Pre/Post cardiac catheterization intervention Proficient in Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring Valve Replacement/Repair and LVAD/RVAD management Competence in CVVHD/CRRT and IV therapy Ability to manage central lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration Knowledge of medications including continuous IV paralytics, sedation, and vasoactive drips Experience in CVA/acute stroke management and care of ventilated patients Skilled in interpretation of ABGs and ventilator management Knowledge of infection prevention and isolation precautions Experience in performing phlebotomy and caring for surgical wounds If you are a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse with a passion for providing high-quality cardiovascular care, we encourage you to apply for this opportunity.
