Position Overview • Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor • Location: 4595 Columbus Street, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 • Reports To: Executive Housekeeper / Housekeeping Manager • Schedule: Full-time. Variable hours, must include weekends and holidays. • Work Environment: Modern hotel in the heart of Virginia Beach’s Town Center business and entertainment district

Summary The Housekeeping Supervisor leads the daily operation of the housekeeping team, ensuring all guest rooms and public areas meet company and brand standards. This role directs and supports room attendants and housepersons, manages daily assignments and coverage, trains and coaches staff, and upholds safety and quality standards throughout the department.

Job Functions:

• Assigns daily room boards and work areas to room attendants and housepersons based on occupancy and priority.
• Trains, coaches, and develops housekeeping staff on cleaning standards, procedures, and productivity.
• Monitors team performance throughout the shift and provides real-time direction and support.
• Inspects rooms and public areas to ensure completed work meets brand and company standards; directs corrections as needed.
• Manages daily schedules, break coverage, and reassignments to maintain coverage across the department.
• Ensures adequate stock of linens, supplies, and chemicals; coordinates ordering and par levels with management.
• Enforces safety standards, proper chemical use per material safety data sheets, and correct equipment operation; addresses and documents unsafe conditions or behavior.
• Supports resolution of guest requests and service recovery related to housekeeping.
• Assists with performance feedback, attendance tracking, and escalates personnel issues to management.
• Communicates room status and priorities with the front desk to support timely check-ins.
• Steps in to clean rooms or public areas as needed to meet coverage and standards.
• Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications • High School diploma or GED required. • Previous housekeeping experience required; prior lead or supervisory experience preferred. • Able to communicate in English, verbal and written; bilingual a plus.

• Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment. • Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional service. • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
