Work Environment

The PTA role is based in a hospital setting, which allows for a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. Our facility is equipped with the latest therapeutic technology to support comprehensive rehabilitation programs. You will be an essential part of a multidisciplinary team, fostering a collaborative atmosphere that emphasizes growth, learning, and supportive care. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced professional and personal life.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will undertake various responsibilities that contribute directly to patient care and rehabilitation processes. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Implementing individualized treatment plans as directed by licensed Physical Therapists, specifically focusing on orthopedic rehabilitation techniques.
  • Monitoring and documenting each patient's progress in relation to their recovery goals, ensuring that accurate records are maintained for ongoing care.
  • Educating patients on appropriate home exercises and therapeutic techniques to facilitate their recovery and independence.
  • Effectively communicating patient status updates and treatment outcomes with supervising Physical Therapists to ensure optimal care coordination.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming clinical environment, promoting a positive atmosphere for both staff and patients.
  • Encouraging and motivating patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, providing emotional and physical support to enhance their recovery experience.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary patient population includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgical procedures, such as joint replacements or ligament repairs, as well as those managing chronic orthopedic conditions like arthritis or sports-related injuries. You will engage with diverse patients, tailoring rehabilitation approaches based on their unique needs and recovery goals, thereby enhancing their ability to resume daily activities and improve their overall physical well-being.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current Florida license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (or be eligible for licensure).
  • Graduate of an accredited PTA program and possess foundational clinical skills in physical therapy.
  • Expressed interest or experience in the orthopedic field, demonstrating a commitment to advancing patient care.
  • Proficient in therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques, ensuring adherence to best practices in patient rehabilitation.
  • A compassionate demeanor and the ability to approach patient care with empathy, professionalism, and dedication.
  • Strong communication and time-management skills to effectively navigate a busy therapy environment.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of experience in physical therapy is required, candidates with a solid background or strong interest in orthopedic therapy will excel in this role. Additional certifications or special training in therapeutic modalities, manual therapy techniques, or other related fields are highly regarded.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience and performance. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
