DWTSurge Contract Immigration Paralegal (Remote)

Overview Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking an experienced immigration paralegal for engagement through the firm’s alternative-track paralegal staffing program, DWTSurge. The selected paralegal will work with the Immigration practice group handling all aspects of business immigration matters, including nonimmigrant visas (H‑1B, L‑1, E, TN, O‑1, B‑1, F‑1); consular processing; and immigrant visas (EB1, EB2, EB3, and PERM). The paralegal may coordinate with in‑house HR or in‑house counsel on immigration sponsorship cases. Although the selected paralegal may work remotely, hours will fluctuate based on the client’s schedule and time zone. Responsibilities Handle all aspects of business immigration matters, including non‑immigrant and immigrant visa processes. Draft and review filings for accuracy and legal sufficiency. Assist with USCIS, consular processing, and client interview preparation. Manage cases across multiple visa categories (E, L, H‑1B, EB‑5, PERM) from initial consultation through approval. Coordinate with in‑house HR or counsel on sponsorship cases. Adapt to cyclical workload patterns, with hours fluctuating and no guaranteed minimum per week. Qualifications 4+ years of immigration experience, focusing on business immigration at a mid‑size or large law firm or with large institutional clients. Residency in one of the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, MD, MN, MT, NJ, NM, NY, OH, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WA, WDC, or WV (jurisdiction specific). Excellent drafting and filing skills. Experience with USCIS, consular processing, and client interview preparation. Demonstrated ability to manage cases across multiple visa categories from initial consultation through approval. Preferred experience with INSZoom or similar immigration database software. Availability to work remotely and accommodate client schedules, including mornings, evenings/overnight hours, and weekends. Strong writing, attention to detail, and ability to produce high‑quality work with minimal supervision. Excellent proactive communication and interpersonal skills. Salary & Benefits Hourly rate: $50–$60 per hour (California, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Oregon, Washington, and Washington, DC).
