Emergency Management Specialist (Response)

This position is located in Response & Recovery, Response Directorate, National Watch Center. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience developing situation reports intended to support senior executive decisions & be comfortable working in a highly visible position within a high-paced and highly dynamic 24/7/365 Watch Center. They should have demonstrated experience in an operations, watch, or command center environment managing all-hazards, multi-source information collection. The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for this position at the GS-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Developing time-sensitive situation reports and operational updates to support senior executive decision-making in a high-visibility, fast-paced, 24/7/365 operations center environment; AND Managing all-hazards, multi-source information collection, aggregation, and analysis within an operations/watch/command center; AND Drafting reports and situational awareness products using specialized terminology and authoritative data sources to inform senior executives and leadership; AND Developing and issuing operations orders to alert, mobilize, and deploy national-level teams and assets while managing updates.
