Data Architect

Senior Data ArchitectWe are seeking a senior-level, hands-on Data Architect to support a critical data platform stabilization initiative within a complex enterprise environment for our client. This contract role requires a strong technical leader who can quickly assess existing systems, identify issues, and implement scalable, high-quality data solutions with minimal ramp-up time. The ideal candidate combines architectural expertise with deep hands-on engineering capability, particularly across Azure-based data platforms and distributed systems. This individual will play a key role in improving data reliability, governance, and observability while working closely with engineering teams. This position is hybrid, with 3 days/week in-office in Cleveland, OH. NOTE: Candidates not local to Cleveland, OH will not be considered. This role is for a 6-month contract (potential to extend).Key Responsibilities:Design and implement enterprise data architecture and canonical data modelsAnalyze, troubleshoot, and stabilize data pipelines and cross-platform data flowsPerform hands-on SQL analysis and data reconciliation across multiple systemsDefine and enforce data governance, ownership, and quality standardsBuild and enhance data validation, monitoring, and observability frameworksImprove data lineage tracking and overall governance processesLeverage AI-driven analytics and automation tools to detect anomalies and accelerate insightsCollaborate closely with engineering and platform teams to align data architecture with system integrationsRequired Skills:Strong expertise in enterprise data architecture and data modelingAdvanced proficiency in SQL and data analysisHands-on experience with Azure data platform services, including: Azure Data Factory Azure SQL / SynapseExperience with event-driven and distributed data systemsDeep understanding of data governance and data quality frameworksFamiliarity with AI-assisted analytics or automation toolsExperience Requirements:8–10+ years of experience in data architecture or data engineeringProven track record designing and stabilizing enterprise-scale data platformsDemonstrated ability to analyze production data and resolve data integrity issuesExperience working within cloud-based data environments, preferably AzureWhat We're Looking For:Senior or lead-level talent capable of delivering immediate impactStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in fast-paced, high-visibility environmentsA hands-on architect who can both design and execute solutions
