As a Senior Quality Engineer within Pratt & Whitney’s HSMC-S, you will help ensure the quality and performance of critical turbine airfoils used in advanced military and commercial engines. You will serve as a key technical partner to manufacturing and inspection teams, working directly with the shop floor to identify and resolve quality issues, evaluate manufacturing processes, drive root cause and corrective action, and ensure products meet engineering, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role offers the opportunity to apply your quality engineering expertise to complex manufacturing challenges while partnering across functions to improve processes, prevent defects, and strengthen overall product quality. We are seeking a proactive, technically strong self-starter who is comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment and can effectively translate quality requirements into practical, sustainable solutions.Key Responsibilities:Serve as a technical quality partner to manufacturing and inspection teams, working directly with shop-floor personnel to identify process risks, resolve quality issues, and ensure turbine airfoils meet engineering, customer, and regulatory requirements.Evaluate manufacturing processes and hardware to determine compliance to applicable requirementsSupport day-to-day manufacturing activities such as review and approval of work instructions, process authorization requests (PAR), and first article inspections (FAI)Perform analysis of quality nonconformancesSupport shop non-compliance investigations to determine root cause, identify robust corrective actions, and track effectivenessSupport preparation efforts for third party and customer quality auditsSupport product escape investigations and population bounding effortsConstruct and perform quality presentations to a technical communityQualifications You Must Have:Bachelor's Degree in a STEM or related field and 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, OR an Advanced Degree and 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.Qualifications We Prefer:Familiarity with inspection tooling and techniquesPrevious experience with first article inspections (FAI) and reviewing/approving work instructions for the shop floor in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge / experience with quality systems and standards such as AS9100.Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a group setting and interface directly with shop floor operators and inspection personnelProficient in the use of continuous improvement tools, such as relentless root cause analysis (RRCA) and principles of lean manufacturing.ASQ – CQE certifications are a plusPlease ensure the role type defined below is appropriate for your needs before applying to this role. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
