We are the largest private provider of residential and community-based services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the state of Kentucky. We are a local non-profit organization founded in 1970 by Louisville-area parents of people with IDD. The Psychologist also serves as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team. The Psychologist assesses the strengths and weakness of each individual supported using standardized and acceptable test measurements and methods. The Psychologist serves as a consultant to staff, individuals supported, and their family members regarding the interpretation of the individuals’ test results and application to programming needs. Attends and participates in interdisciplinary team reviews of each individual’s program plan (IPP). The Psychologist shall submit prior to each annual review, a written assessment of each individual's current functioning needs and the interpretations of current test results for inclusion in the IPP summary. Evaluates (at least once every three years) each individual's adaptive behavior and intellectual functioning by means of standardized testing measures in accordance with accepted psychological procedures. A written report of the testing results, conclusions, and recommendations shall be promptly entered into the individual's record. Collaborates and works closely with all departments including the Director of Behavior Services. Assesses, makes referrals, and provides recommendations for behavior support programing. Supports the Behavior Services Department to train and educate the Direct Support Professionals, managers/therapists, and other staff, as appropriate, in the use and application of behavioral programming as well as mental health needs. Attends all Suite Meetings for the purpose of disseminating and reporting evaluation results and providing information useful to the staff working directly with the individuals. Counsels individuals and/or their families as needed related to diagnosis and mental health. Serves as a consultant to the staff Placement Committee and Admission, Discharge, & Services Committee in the review and assessment of the needs of persons applying for enrollment. Attends and participates in scheduled in-service training programs, as appropriate. Trains new employees through participation in new employee orientation. Attends and participates in program activities, i.e. field trips, outings, etc., as appropriate and assigned. Attends and participates in staff meetings and individual meetings as scheduled. Submits weekly psychology services sheets to the Business Office for billing. Monitors expenditures and to stays within budget guidelines. Consults with the Psychiatrist and Director of Health Services to coordinate individual mental health services. Notifies the chairperson of the Human Rights Committee of any type of restriction not limited to but including psychotropic medications requiring review and present information to committee members. The Psychologist is a member of the Human Rights Committee. Performs other related work as assigned. What sets you apart: A Master’s Degree in Psychology and shall be licensed for autonomous functioning by the Kentucky Board of Psychology. A Ph.D. or equivalent recognized doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology preferred and must hold a valid permanent license as a clinical or counseling psychologist, a licensed psychological practitioner, or a certified psychologist with autonomous functioning in Kentucky. At least one (1) year of supervised clinical experience preferred or experience working with persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Valid driver’s license is required. What your typical schedule looks like: Full-time, exempt, 40 hours per week. Hours must be flexible to meet supported individuals’ needs and to provide staff training to all shifts including nights and weekends. We are an equal opportunity employer.
