We offer a friendly, professional atmosphere with excellent benefits and a salary commensurate with experience.Job DescriptionThe Senior Project Manager role plans, directs, manages, and provides oversight of assigned projects as well as mentors and monitors Project Managers to ensure that the company's goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed schedule and budget parameters. Effectively communicates with management, technical staff, and clients. Provides internal and external coordination and collaboration with clients, project partners, and stakeholders. This role will direct and manage teams of engineers focused on transportation-related projects and to support projects in other geographic areas. Interface with clients, and Federal, Local, and State government contacts. Some travel may be required.DutiesMeet with clients to prepare and or validate proposed scopes of workPrepare fee proposals for civil engineering design and construction observation workDevelops external project schedule in coordination with the ClientFacilitates as project main point of contact with Client and Subconsultants and coordinates technical requirements with Project Team.Develops a Work Plan, internal schedule, and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for the project.Coordinates with Group Leaders to secure resource commitments for key project personnel.Updates the Group Leader and Practice Leader with schedule changes and production resource needsManages and reviews the performance of projects, ensuring adherence to Scope, Schedule, Budget, and Quality. Notifies the Client in advance if a Contract Modification is required.Lead complex projects and support other projects or phases of large projectsAttends and actively participates on a regular basis in meetings with the client, stakeholders, project partners, and Company staff, and develops strong working relationships throughout the industry.Contribute to strategic planning and developmentDemonstrate clear and concise oral, and written communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, resources, and presentationsMentors the Project Managers by regularly monitoring the performance of the projects assigned to themJob Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills)Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or a related field.Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of transportation, Project Engineer/Project Manager experience.Minimum Requirement: Has a post-graduate degree and registration with the Spanish Civil Engineer Association or an equivalently recognized international registration/chartering, the ability to test and pass the PE exam within a year of starting with the company, or has passed the PE exam.Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) and eligible for registration in the States where the company has offices is preferred.DOT and municipality experience in all facets of engineering is preferred.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data management skills are essential.Must be an excellent communicator with extensive experience to include technical writing, oral presentation, facilitation, and executive-level synthesis..Must demonstrate ability to manage projects, develop work, and provide excellent client serviceCompetencies (To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies)Communicative – interacts openly with others; can maintain relationships, works well independently or with a team.Consultative - Consults with other disciplines as needed; tolerates different perspectives or opinions.Decisive & Action Oriented - Has a high level of energy and stamina; gets things done; makes sound educated but rapid decisions even when short of information; enjoys managing challenging projects and works well in fast-paced and pressure environments.
