Key Responsibilities

• Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients in an Operating Room/Surgery setting.
• Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to manage clinical situations effectively.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN License in state of employment or a valid compact state license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Operating Room or surgical nursing.
• Ability to participate in on-call and weekend requirements as needed.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience managing complex clinical contingencies and delegating effectively within a surgical care team.
