Production Associate

The Production Associate plays a key role in the manufacturing of PCB/PCBA boards by operating and monitoring automated production lines, assembling server units, and performing quality checks. This position involves working across multiple areas of the production process, including SMT, PTH insertion, and final assembly and testing, to ensure products meet established standards and move efficiently through the facility.

Responsibilities

• Load blank PCB/PCBA boards into SMT machines and monitor SMT production lines to ensure continuous and efficient operation.
• Load and unload component reels and full carts of reels into SMT machines, including stopping machines, threading reels correctly, and restarting equipment safely.
• Transition boards from the SMT line to the PTH insertion line, maintaining proper workflow between production stages.
• Keep reels of components properly fed into the PTH insertion machine and ensure consistent operation of the line.
• Monitor and maintain solder paste levels in the wave machine to ensure components are securely soldered to boards.
• Handle completed PCB/PCBA boards and mount them into server boxes following detailed build sheets displayed on computer screens.
• Use hand and power tools to secure assemblies within server boxes according to specifications and safety guidelines.
• Lift and load completed server boxes (up to 30 lbs) into server test equipment to perform pass/fail testing.
• Conduct pass/fail tests on completed server boxes, accurately identify results, and place units in designated pass or fail areas.
• Document the movement and status of tested boxes in the appropriate systems to maintain accurate production records.
• Follow written and visual work instructions, build sheets, and standard operating procedures throughout all production steps.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all facility safety, ESD, and quality control standards.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of consistent work history in a production, assembly, or machine operation environment, or similar hands-on role.
• Ability to lift and safely handle items weighing up to 30 lbs on a regular basis.
• Ability to pass a basic math test at approximately 5th grade level, including fundamental arithmetic and measurement concepts.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English to follow build sheets, work instructions, and document production activity.
• Comfort working with automated machinery, including starting, stopping, and monitoring production equipment.
• Attention to detail when following build sheets and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly and testing.
• Reliability in adhering to assigned shift schedules and meeting production expectations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in production, assembly, or machine operation, particularly in electronics or PCB/PCBA manufacturing, is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with SMT (Surface Mount Technology) lines and PTH (Pin Through Hole) insertion machines is an advantage.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools for mechanical or electronic assembly.
• Comfort working with computer-based build sheets and production documentation systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a structured, process-driven environment with standardized procedures.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and following ESD handling protocols.

Work Environment

The role is based in a modern electronics production facility that is extremely clean, well-lit, and housed in buildings constructed within the last four years. The environment is fully climate controlled, providing a comfortable temperature throughout all seasons. Employees work with brand-new production machinery and equipment, including SMT lines, PTH insertion machines, and server test systems. This is an ESD-controlled facility, and team members wear smocks and heel straps to maintain proper electrostatic discharge protection. Multiple shifts are available: 1st shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; 2nd shift runs from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; and 3rd shift runs from 11:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, with optional overtime opportunities on Saturdays and Sundays. The work involves standing, moving between production areas, handling components and boards, and lifting items up to 30 lbs as part of normal duties.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.80/hr.
