Shipping/Receiving Clerk

The Shipping & Receiving Clerkis responsible forprocessing, tracking, and documenting the inbound and outbound movement of Army equipment andmaterielat a contractor-managed turn-in site. This role ensures compliance with U.S. Army supply regulations, Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR), and contract requirements, while supportingaccurateproperty accountability and efficient turn-in operations. The clerk works closely with warehouse, supply, and transportation personnel to ensuretimelyandaccurateshipping and receiving activities. Responsibilities The Shipping/Receiving Clerk performs clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping goods of the establishment in which employed and receiving incoming shipments. In performing day-to-day, routine tasks, this worker follows established guidelines. In handling unusual non-routine problems, this worker receives specific guidance from supervisor or other officials. This incumbent may direct and coordinate the activities of other workers engaged in handling goods to be shipped or being received. Shipping duties typically involve the following: verifying that orders are accurately filled by comparing items and quantities of goods gathered for shipment against documents; insuring that shipments are properly packaged, identified with shipping information, and loaded into transporting vehicles, and preparing and keeping records of goods shipped, e.g., manifests, bills of lading. Receiving duties typically involve the following: verifying the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records, checking for damaged goods, insuring that goods are appropriately identified for routing to departments within the establishment, and preparing and keeping records of goods received Process and verify incoming equipment from Army unitsin accordance withAR 710-2, AR 735-5, and DA PAM 710-2-1. Match items to turn-in documentation (DA Form 1348-1A, DD Form 200, hand receipts) for accuracy and completeness. Update Armylogisticssystems (GCSS-Army, DPAS, or LMP) to reflect receipt transactions. Stage and transfer items todesignatedwarehouse or yard locations. Prepare and process outbound shipments of Army equipment for transfer, redistribution, or disposal. Generate and review shipping documentation (DD Form 1348-1A, bills oflading, TCMDs, DD Form 1149). Coordinate with transportation teams for scheduling, loading, anddispatch ofshipments. Verify load plans, ensure cargo is properly packaged, marked, and secured. Maintainaccuratelogs of all inbound and outbound shipments. Input transactions into Army-approvedlogisticsand transportation systems (e.g., GCSS-Army, TC-AIMS II). File andmaintainshipping, receiving, and discrepancy reportsin accordance withISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and government auditing standards. Work with Army unit supply personnel to resolve documentation or shipment discrepancies. Coordinate with Supply Technicians, Material Coordinators, and Warehouse Specialists to ensure smooth equipment flow. Communicate shipment and receipt status to site supervisors and the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). Follow OSHA, Army, and company safety procedures during loading, unloading, and material handling. Ensure compliance with HAZMAT packaging, labeling, and transportation regulations. Maintain a clean, safe shipping/receiving work area. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; however, equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted. Associate’s in logistics or supply desired. Experience: 2–4 years of shipping, receiving, or supply experience (military or contractor environment preferred). Familiarity with Army supply/transportation documentation and systems highly desirable. Army regulations: AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DA PAM 710-2-1. Transportation documentation and standards: DTR 4500.9-R. Army systems: GCSS-Army, DPAS, LMP, TC-AIMS II. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability tooperateforklifts, pallet jacks, and other MHE (OF 346licensepreferred). Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills. Detail-oriented with the ability toidentifyand correct documentation errors. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Must have a REAL ID. Must have a valid driver’s license with proof of vehicle insurance. Must be able to obtain andmaintaina Common Access Card (CAC). Must be able to obtain Tier1/ NACI (Public trust) background eligibility. Employees maybe requiredto perform other duties as assigned. Must be able to travel within the United States asrequired. This position may require up to 25% travel. Must receive a favorable background check and drug testing results. Physical Demands & Working Environment: Must be able to lift upto 50 lbs. and perform routine standing, walking, bending and reaching tasks in warehouse and field environments. Must also meet all physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties, including working in extreme heat or cold, high, or low humidity, blowing sand and dust, confined spaces, heights, and other inclement weather conditions.
