Desired skills and qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification in Arizona
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs
- Strong ability to develop and modify Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Creative, adaptable instructional strategies to maximize student progress
- Excellent communication skills to partner with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Organization and time management skills to maintain compliance and documentation
Key responsibilities:
- Design and implement instruction tailored to students with mild to moderate disabilities
- Evaluate student abilities and progress using a variety of assessment tools
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages social and academic growth
- Communicate regularly with families to support student development and goals
- Maintain accurate records and meet all state and federal special education requirements
