The Supply Planning Manager at Lightspeed is a hands-on operational role for someone who thrives as both a doer and a leader. This role is responsible for communicating and monitoring supplier requirements and performance against the rolling forecast — spanning contract manufacturers (CMs) and material suppliers — while managing day-to-day purchasing and inbound logistics. They work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Finance on broader demand and inventory alignment. The ideal candidate brings roughly 10 years of experience across supply planning, procurement, and inventory positioning, including 3–5 years in a leadership capacity, and is equally comfortable executing day-to-day work as they are developing process and driving improvement. At Lightspeed, a 75-person employee-owned company, this role operates lean — the right person doesn't wait for perfect infrastructure, they build it.

This is an onsite position, with work-from-home flexibility.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Translate the rolling forecast into actionable requirements for contract manufacturers (CMs) and suppliers; ensure they are actively executing to plan and resolve shortages, capacity constraints, and schedule deviations as they arise.
• Partner with Sales, Product, and Finance to align supply planning with demand signals and business priorities; contribute to inventory coverage strategy and supplier performance standards.
• Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for CMs; manage production scheduling and ensure PO quantities are reflected accurately in ERP.
• Manage raw material procurement planning in coordination with CMs and oversee NPI sourcing and procurement in partnership with Engineering and Product.
• Oversee purchase order management from initiation to receipt, including AP invoice approval and resolution of receiving and invoicing issues; delegates day-to-day PO execution and kanban purchasing to the Junior Buyer within established approval thresholds.
• Maintain ERP planning criteria (order quantities, safety stock, lead times) and product master data to support accurate supply planning and decision-making.
• Ensure customs compliance and inbound logistics execution; may delegate day-to-day execution as appropriate.
• Supervise and develop junior team members; drive day-to-day procurement efficiency and cross-functional alignment.

Qualifications:

• Proficient in ERP systems; Infor CloudSuite Distribution (CSD) or comparable experience required
• Strong analytical skills; able to interpret supply and demand data and drive operational decisions
• Approaches supplier and CM relationships through a partnership lens
• Acts independently within their span of control; navigates complexity without constant direction
• Outcome-focused; seeks continuous improvement without letting perfect get in the way of better
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effective across internal functions and external suppliers
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
• 10 years of experience across supply planning, procurement, and inventory positioning; 3–5 years in a direct leadership or supervisory capacity
• Track record of identifying and acting on opportunities to improve business processes
• Background in small component contract manufacturing; electronic components and domestic and international sourcing preferred
• Experience with customs compliance and freight broker management
