Physical Therapist Assistant

Our client is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to be a compassionate and vital member of their care team, working to restore and enhance the mobility, independence, and wellbeing of the patients. Under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will provide personalized therapeutic interventions that address physical needs and contribute to the overall quality of life for the patients. Responsibilities Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, and other activities. Provide hands-on techniques, such as massage and stretching, to help residents manage pain and improve function. Observe and monitor residents' responses to treatment, document progress, and report any changes in condition or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist. Educate patients and their families on exercises and mobility techniques to promote continued progress and safety after therapy sessions. Assist patients in the safe and proper use of assistive devices, such as walkers, canes, and wheelchairs. Prepare treatment areas and equipment, ensuring a clean and safe environment for residents. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, including nurses and occupational therapists, to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to resident care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities in accordance with regulatory standards. Qualifications Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program and a valid, unrestricted license to practice in the state. Previous experience in a senior living or long-term care setting is preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
