Patient Care Tech

Performs reception, clerical & secretarial duties while functioning as the focal communication source in the work station. Works closely with management, staff, families, physicians, other employees, and visitors. Assists to maintain the department in a constant state of readiness and an adequately stocked, well organized and clean department. Assists the nurses in providing the best care for our patients.

• Adaptable and flexible. Ability to perform multiple tasks and self-start with minimal direction from nursing staff.
• Utilizes AIDET
• Resolves problems and adapts easily to change.

• Utilizes down time productively or in a way that benefits the patient. Avoids waste; utilizes equipment and supplies effectively.
• Uses computer for only purposes as assigned.
• Maintains the current medical record and database.
• Maintains up to date manuals/books.
• Performs clerical duties and operates various office equipment.

Experience/Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, clerical skills & basic data entry skills preferred.
• Possesses a service orientation.
• Able to take vital signs

Licenses/Certifications

• BLS certification
• Passes EKG testing yearly
