Registrar Lead

Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our Registrar Lead, you will be a pivotal resource for the Patient Access Department, combining front‑line registration expertise with leadership responsibilities. You will play a key role in staff development, including hiring and training, while ensuring departmental processes and policies are implemented and adhered to.Every day you will courteously greet patients, accurately obtain demographic and insurance information, code and verify insurance coverage, assist with billing inquiries, process medical record requests, and facilitate patient transfers when needed.To be successful, you need an associate's degree or a combination of education and relevant experience, and at least one year of recent medical office, hospital registration, or banking experience.Greet patients courteously and professionally.Obtain accurate demographic and insurance information.Correctly code and verify insurance coverage.Collect estimated patient responsibility or screen patients for assistance programs.Answer all incoming calls to the facility.RequirementsHigh school graduate or GED.One year of recent experience in medical office, hospital registration, or banking.Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.PreferredAssociate's degree or equivalent education and experience.Year of management, supervisory, or leadership experience.Experience with service recovery and conflict resolution.Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, collections, and schedule creation and maintenance.LocationAZ General Hospital Laveen, a 16‑bed non‑profit hospital located in Laveen, Arizona, part of CommonSpirit Health.#J-18808-Ljbffr
