ELECTRICAL ENGINEER-SUPERVISOR

The Electrical Supervisor/Engineer position is located at our Dodson Lumber facility in Dodson, LA. This position plans and leads the daily activities of a small team of electricians in the areas of safety, quality and maintenance for all equipment and buildings in order to meet the departmental and unit goals. This position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent. The Electrical Supervisor/Engineer will also be responsible for leading team meetings & trainings, identifying safety, environmental, quality & production issues, coordinate activities with production team to maximize productivity and minimize cost, reduce waste and taking measures to proactively address all concerns. Additionally, the Electrical Supervisor/Engineer leads the team by proactively resolving employee issues, builds team work, and ensures adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner. Key Functions: Primary responsibility of leading a team of electricians to meet departmental and unit goals in equipment and building safety, quality and maintenance. Also, will implement preventive and predictive maintenance methods and systems to reduce unscheduled downtime and utilize reliable troubleshooting methods to ensure production volume, quality and overall uptime goals are met. The supervisor will plan, develop, manage and provide effective leadership for the maintenance team through: Ensure the safety of all associates by identifying safety issues and taking measures to proactively address concerns Actively supervise and develop the electrical maintenance team to ensure effective communication across & between shifts and with the production teams Utilize preventive maintenance systems to reduce unscheduled downtime Efficient use of reliable troubleshooting methods to ensure uptime, production volume and quality goals are met Effective use of training resources to maximize team technical skills Use computer-based programs to support effective prioritization of maintenance requests, manage maintenance inventory, and delegate maintenance resources About our Wood Products Business We manufacture and sell an innovative collection of proven structural framing materials to the residential, multi-family and light commercial markets, and also provide seamless building solutions, from design to installation to support. The following qualifications are required: Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline Minimum 3 years experience in a supervisory role in an industrial environment Able to manage a union hourly work force Demonstrated ability to lead a team to a high level of safety performance Work related experience in leading and ensuring compliance with safety initiatives Knowledgeable in the areas of electrical, mechanical and PLC programming Proven expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance methods Ability to read and understand electrical, loop , drives system schematics Ability to identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent reoccurrence Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills Demonstrated ability to raise performance by building and maintaining positive relationships with all associates through coaching, development and instilling a continuous improvement mind-set Strong planning and organizational skills Strong work ethic, good judgment and decision-making skills Must have track record of consistently demonstrating leadership skills as well as positive influence and accomplishments in proactively influencing safety, environmental, quality, productivity and people development Demonstrated basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Office, other windows based programs and internet skills Must be able to accept and respond to after hour's calls Must be willing to work a weekend adjusted schedule Excellent communications (verbal and written) to include technical writing and presentations Working knowledge of business and financial concepts Demonstrated results in achieving and sustaining business goals The following qualifications are preferred: PLC Expert Working knowledge of business and financial concepts Demonstrated results in achieving and sustaining business goals Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
