It's a great time to be a part of ZOLL!Job SummaryThe Revenue Accounting & Reporting Manager is responsible for managing complex revenue accounting activities, ensuring compliance with revenue accounting standards (i.e., ASC 606), and delivering accurate and timely revenue reporting. This role also oversees backlog reporting and deferred revenue accounting, including warranty obligations, FOB destination terms, and military contract deferrals. The position partners with cross-functional teams to analyze revenue trends, review contracts for proper accounting treatment, and support audits. The Revenue Accounting & Reporting Manager has deep technical accounting expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders without direct people management responsibilities.Essential FunctionsPerform and review revenue accounting in accordance with ASC 606 and company policiesAnalyze complex contracts and determine appropriate revenue recognition treatmentPartner with Sales, FP&A, Legal, and Operations to review contracts and assess revenue implicationsProvide guidance on revenue recognition for new products, pricing models, and business initiativesAccount for and monitor deferred revenue balances, including service contracts, FOB destination terms, and other contract deferralsEnsure proper recognition of revenue upon satisfaction of performance obligationsPrepare detailed reconciliations and reporting for deferred revenue accountsSupport internal and external audits related to revenue, backlog, and deferred revenueMaintain SOX compliance and strengthen internal controls over revenue processesPreform quarterly audit of Sales Journal and Revenue Accounts to ensure compliancePrepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and revenue-related schedulesDeliver accurate and timely revenue reporting for internal stakeholders and external filingsPrepare Global Price/Volume Analysis quarterlyMaintain and report backlog data, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Provide insights into backlog trends and implications for future revenue recognitionCollaborate with FP&A and Sales to support forecasting and planning based on backlog metricsAccount for and monitor deferred revenue balances, including service contracts, FOB destination terms, and military contract deferralsEnsure proper recognition of revenue upon satisfaction of performance obligationsPrepare detailed reconciliations and reporting for deferred revenue accountsIdentify opportunities to streamline revenue, backlog, and deferred revenue processes and enhance automationContribute to system implementations and upgrades related to revenue recognition and backlog trackingEngage with IT Application team to confirm and ensure proper revenue recognition when system upgrades are performedRequired/Preferred Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in revenue accountingCertified Public Accountant (CPA) PreferredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesStrong knowledge of ASC 606 and US GAAPExperience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and revenue/backlog reporting toolsExcellent analytical and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environmentExperience in a global organization with multi-currency transactionsFamiliarity with SaaS or subscription-based revenue modelsAdvanced Excel and data analysis skillsPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Standing - OccasionallyWalking - OccasionallySitting - FrequentlyTalking - OccasionallyHearing - OccasionallyRepetitive Motions - FrequentlyZOLL is a fast-growing company that operates in more than 140 countries around the world. Factors which may affect starting salary include geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
