QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SYSTEMS SAFETY ENGINEER to join our team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicant will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic. Job SummaryQTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support.  Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following: The candidate will thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/teams comprised of all experience levels Minimum Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related work experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 3 years of related work experience, or a PhD. and 1 year of related work experience Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMust be able to work on-site in an office environment.At least 2 years of experience with requirements decomposition and managementWorking knowledge of systems engineering principles and processesVerification experience or knowledgeExperience with requirements management tools such as DOORSExperience developing Certification or Verification packages for all levels of requirements (including safety requirements for operations, flight test, and ground test)Experience developing systems engineering and systems safety products in an Agile environmentSystem Safety Engineering experience conducting comprehensive system safety analyses IAW MIL-STD-882E, including Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), System Hazard Analysis (SHA), and Operating & Support Hazard Analysis (O&SHA) to ensure compliance and mitigate operational risksMissile Defense Weapon System experience Desired Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExperience with Requirement Verification methods such as TestAssociate Safety Professional (ASP) / Certified Safety Professional (CSP) CertificateDemonstrated independent planning, organization, and working in cross-functional teams with a customer focusFamiliarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and associated toolsINCOSE or System Engineering certification Security ClearanceCandidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.  LocationHuntsville, AL QTEC, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
