Job Summary:

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) is responsible for maintaining the health and welfare of patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. This role involves assessing patients and procedures, anticipating the needs of the surgical team, and providing necessary services while ensuring an aseptic and safe environment. The OR RN supports the mission and nursing philosophy of the healthcare facility and acts as a self-motivated professional and resource person within the operating room setting. Responsibilities:

• Maintain patient health and welfare throughout surgical procedures.
• Perform patient assessments before, during, and after surgery.
• Anticipate and respond to the needs of the surgical team.
• Ensure and maintain an aseptic and safe operating room environment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide quality care.
• Support and uphold the nursing philosophy and mission of the healthcare facility.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in surgical or operating room settings.
• Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and surgical protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working specifically in Operating Room or surgical nursing.
• Additional certifications related to perioperative nursing.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Special Considerations:

• Must maintain strict aseptic techniques and sterile field protocols.
• Position requires collaboration and communication with surgical team members.
• Travelers from Montana will only be considered if residing beyond a 250-mile radius from the facility.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule typically involves shifts aligned with surgical case schedules.
• Shift types may include days, evenings, or as assigned based on operating room needs.
