Physical Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our orthopedic practice. The PTA will work with patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, and sports-related conditions, including injuries involving the shoulder, knee, ankle, and other musculoskeletal conditions. The PTA will provide hands-on treatment and therapeutic exercises under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, with the goal of helping patients improve strength, mobility, function, and overall recovery. Provide physical therapy treatments and therapeutic exercises according to the established plan of care. Work with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries and injuries. Treat conditions involving the shoulder, knee, ankle, and other orthopedic and sports-related injuries. Assist patients with strengthening, stretching, range-of-motion, balance, coordination, and functional exercises. Provide therapeutic activities and modalities as directed by the Physical Therapist. Monitor patient progress and tolerance to treatment and report concerns or changes to the Physical Therapist. Educate patients on exercises, proper body mechanics, and home exercise programs as directed. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatments and patient responses. Assist with patient flow and maintain an organized and clean treatment area. Follow all clinical, safety, infection-control, and documentation requirements. Communicate professionally with physicians, physical therapists, patients, and other staff members. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. Perform other duties related to patient care as assigned. Current Florida Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA) license in good standing. Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain. Previous orthopedic or sports medicine experience preferred. Knowledge of orthopedic rehabilitation and post-operative protocols preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with patients of varying ages and physical abilities. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary orthopedic team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to assist and safely transfer patients when necessary. Ability to demonstrate therapeutic exercises and physical therapy techniques. Ability to lift, move, and position equipment and supplies as required.
