Accountant 3 PositionThe Department of Natural Resources, Support Services Division, is recruiting for an Accountant 3 in Anchorage. This position is open to Alaska Residents only. Please check our residency definition to determine if you qualify.What You Will Be Doing:The Accountant 3 oversees both travel and expense and the accounts payable processing for DNR, performing the following duties:Performs supervisory and management functions, including workforce development, operational planning, policy development, data analysis, and program coordination.Develops, manages, and is accountable for maintaining a high-performance team meeting agreed-upon service level targets and performance measures.Serves as the subject matter expert for travel and expense as well as accounts payable processes while applying advanced accounting knowledge.Audits and certifies documents for compliance with the AAM, CBU, and standard operating procedures.Analyzes transactions and processes, identifies discrepancies, develops improved methods, and implements solutions.Responsible for end-of-fiscal-year activities.Mission and Values/Culture:The Support Services Division is a unified organization dedicated to delivering client-focused financial, budget, procurement, human resource, and information technology services to support all DNR staff and public-facing service programs. "Typically gained by" means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job.
