Job Description
Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician

Profession: Surgical Services

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar facility

License: Required based on state regulations

Certifications:


CBSPD or CRCST through HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM)

Must-Have: Experience in decontamination, sterilization processes, and sterile storage

Description:
We are seeking candidates experienced in all areas of sterile processing.

Candidates must have expertise in the decontamination of various items, including drills, scopes, and instruments.

Experience with the sterilization process using Sterrad and steam is essential.

High-level disinfection and scope reprocessing experience is required.

Familiarity with Censitrac tracking system is preferred.

Candidates should have the ability to float to multiple locations if necessary.

Interdisciplinary support is vital in this role to ensure all instruments are sterilized and prepared for use.

The position requires a clinical liaison role between operating rooms and sterile processing.

Candidates should be proficient in assembling instrument trays across various service lines.

Strong attention to detail is necessary for the proper labeling and selection of wrapping materials.

This position demands maintaining a high standard of aseptic techniques to prevent infections.

Candidates should also be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with a high daily census.


Additional experience in trauma facilities is preferred.
