Job Title: Plastic Welder | Weekly Pay

Job Description

This role focuses on fabricating plastic assemblies according to detailed print specifications. You will produce both standard and custom parts, build complete products, and inspect your work to ensure it meets strict quality standards. The position involves hands-on plastic welding, secondary machining, and close collaboration with a small team in a clean, climate-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate plastic piece parts, turntables, cabinets, and fusion assemblies in accordance with technical drawings and print specifications.
• Perform plastic welding operations, including solvent welding, to assemble components and complete products.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine fabrication requirements, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Select and prepare appropriate plastic materials for welding, ensuring they are clean, properly handled, and free from defects before use.
• Operate hand and power tools, such as grinders and cutters, to shape, trim, and finish plastic components as required.
• Inspect components and finished assemblies to verify they meet quality and dimensional standards, making adjustments or rework as needed.
• Perform secondary machining operations on plastic parts to achieve final specifications and surface finishes.
• Follow established safety procedures, work instructions, and quality standards while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with other welders and team members to coordinate work, resolve fabrication issues, and meet production timelines.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience in plastics manufacturing and plastic welding.
• Ability to perform solvent welding and fusion assembly of plastic components.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Skill in operating hand and power tools, including grinders and cutters, for shaping and trimming components.
• Experience fabricating plastic piece parts, turntables, cabinets, and similar assemblies.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to inspect parts to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Capability to perform secondary machining operations on plastic parts.
• Solid understanding of basic welding principles and fabrication practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in cabinetry fabrication or working with cabinet-style assemblies.
• Exposure to MIG welding, TIG welding, and working with stainless steel components.
• Background in general welding and metal fabrication environments.
• Ability to work effectively in a small shop alongside 1–2 other welders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to custom fabrication requirements.

Work Environment

Daily work involves hands-on fabrication using hand and power tools such as grinders and cutters, as well as plastic welding equipment and secondary machining tools. The facility emphasizes organization, cleanliness, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chanhassen, MN.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Chanhassen,MN.
