Program Coordinator Position Summary The Student Outreach and Resource Center at Rollins College is seeking a service and detail-oriented part-time Program Coordinator to join their team! The Student Outreach & Resource Center (SOAR) recognizes that student success extends beyond academic ability and requires students to develop the organizational, interpersonal, and self-management skills necessary to successfully navigate the college experience. The Program Coordinator coordinates the Skills Mentor Program by providing individualized developmental mentoring, coordinating referrals, developing program resources, supporting graduate assistants who participate in mentoring, and collaborating with campus partners. Using a strengths-based, developmental approach, this position helps students strengthen organization, planning, self-management, self-advocacy, interpersonal effectiveness, problem-solving, decision-making, and effective navigation of college systems and resources. The Program Coordinator also provides guidance and coordination for graduate assistants and other mentors who support the Skills Mentor Program while collaborating closely with Accessibility Services, Academic Advising, Residence Life, Counseling & Psychological Services, faculty, and other campus partners to promote student success, persistence, and holistic wellbeing. This position reports to the Student Outreach & Resource Center. Primary Responsibilities Developmental Mentoring & Student Support: Provide individualized, non-clinical developmental mentoring to students. Assist students in strengthening organization, planning, self-management, self-advocacy, interpersonal effectiveness, problem-solving, decision-making, and effective navigation of college systems and resources. Partner with students to establish individualized goals, identify barriers to success, develop practical strategies, and monitor progress toward increased independence and confidence. Develop mentoring plans and resources that encourage students to apply and practice new skills between mentoring sessions. Utilize strengths-based, student-centered mentoring techniques that promote accountability, resilience, skill development, and self-efficacy. Evaluate student progress, celebrate developmental growth, and adjust mentoring strategies based on individual student needs and goals. Maintain appropriate records of mentoring interactions and student progress consistent with departmental practices. Program Leadership & Administration: Coordinate, implement, and refine the Skills Mentor Program. Develop mentoring resources, educational materials, and structured skill-building activities that support student development. Coordinate student referrals, mentor assignments, scheduling, and program operations. Promote awareness of the Skills Mentor Program through outreach, presentations, and collaborative partnerships that increase appropriate referrals and understanding of developmental mentoring services. Collect participation and outcome data to support ongoing program evaluation and continuous improvement. Assist in evaluating program effectiveness and preparing reports. Mentor Support and Collaboration: Coordinate the mentoring activities of graduate assistants and other individuals who participate in the Skills Mentor Program. Provide orientation, resources, guidance, and ongoing support related to developmental mentoring practices. Meet regularly with participating mentors to discuss student progress, share resources, and promote consistency in mentoring approaches. Assist in developing mentor resources and training materials to support future program growth. Minimum Qualifications & Education Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in higher education, education, psychology, counseling, social work, human services, or a related field. Minimum of two years of professional experience in higher education, education, student affairs, student support services, advising, mentoring, coaching, accessibility services, counseling, human services, or a related field. Experience providing individualized support, mentoring, coaching, advising, or skill development to adolescents or young adults. Demonstrated ability to establish positive, supportive relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and exercise sound judgment in a dynamic environment. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to student development, inclusion, and supporting student success through strengths-based, developmental practices. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Psychology, Education, Social Work, or a related field. Experience developing, implementing, or coordinating student success programs or initiatives. Experience supervising, training, mentoring, or developing student employees, graduate assistants, interns, practicum students, or volunteers. Experience facilitating workshops, educational programs, or group learning experiences. Experience creating educational materials, curricula, or structured learning experiences. Familiarity with student development theory, learning strategies, executive functioning, motivational interviewing, strengths-based coaching, or related developmental approaches. Experience utilizing student information systems, case management software, scheduling platforms, or other technology to support student services. Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, including students navigating academic, personal, social, or transitional challenges. Position Information Work Schedule: The Program Coordinator role is scheduled to work approximately 20 hours per week and for a total of or fewer than 1,000 hours per year. The schedule will depend on availability and department needs with the ability to work flexible hours. Pay Rate: Rollins offers a competitive hourly rate and there are no benefits associated with this position. Work Environment Campus-based, front-facing customer service position, working in a community/field environment. Work requires visual strain and regular use of a computer. Able to work flexible hours which includes evenings and weekends as needed to support student programming, outreach activities, or campus events.
