Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 18 Weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 8 Hours (07:00 - 16:00) Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of experience in an Operating Room setting - Ability to scrub and have good experience in Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) procedures - Skills in performing endoscopic sinus procedures, laparoscopic assisted cases, laryngectomy, mastoidectomy, tympanoplasty, stapedectomy, radical neck dissection, and others - Pediatric experience in myringotomy with tubes, scrub pedi ENT surgeries, and tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy - Emergency management skills including code response and fire safety - Professional knowledge in specimen handling and universal protocol Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and will not be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR. The unit will accept first-time travelers if the RN can scrub and has good ENT experience. Locals are accepted. The setting is an ambulatory operating room. Daily patient census is approximately 45 with 6 operating rooms. The unit specializes in ENT and eye surgeries. There will be no weekend or call requirements. There may be a float requirement to other area surgical centers but very rarely. The patient age groups include infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Special procedures include ENT surgeries, cataracts, ocular plastics, and head and neck procedures. The unit operates in a fast-paced environment. Equipment required includes electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources. All procedures must adhere to infection control and safety protocols. The average daily visitation is 45, utilizing 6 operating rooms.
