The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program. Job Description We’re seeking a skilled applicant to join our team in Allendale, SC. In this full-time role, you'll perform routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of equipment—from tractors and automobiles to forestry equipment and small engines. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related equipment issues Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on tractors, vehicles, forestry equipment, trailers, small engines, and other machinery Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment safety, reliability, and operational readiness Maintain detailed maintenance records, service logs, and repair documentation Source, order, receive, and track replacement parts, tools, and supplies Maintain accurate inventory levels for all equipment parts, consumables, and maintenance materials Develop and implement organized inventory management systems to ensure efficient tracking and availability of parts Keep the maintenance shop, storage areas, tools, and workspaces clean, organized, and operating efficiently at all times Monitor equipment condition and proactively identify maintenance needs before failures occur Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain parts and services in a timely and cost-effective manner Submit monthly expense reports accurately and on time Assist with equipment transportation, setup, and field service as needed Required Skills & Competencies: Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and recordkeeping Strong inventory management and parts tracking abilities Ability to establish and maintain organized shop, tool, and storage systems Excellent problem-solving, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Strong planning and time-management skills Ability to maintain accurate maintenance, inventory, and expense records Professional communication skills with vendors, suppliers, and team members Strong sense of accountability, ownership, and follow-through Commitment to workplace safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence Proficient with digital recordkeeping, spreadsheets, and maintenance tracking systems Physical Requirements: Ability to lift/move up to 75 pounds and perform physical labor for extended periods Able to work in various physical positions (climbing, kneeling, standing, etc.) Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive Environmental Conditions: Outdoor work environment in all weather conditions Exposure to heat, cold, humidity, dust, fumes, and potential contact with wildlife Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required 5+ years of experience in mechanical repair (required) Any level degree or certification beyond HS diploma/GED + up to 1 year experience Experience with metal fabrication (preferred) Military, technical, or vocational training is a plus Additional Requirements: Must adhere to company policies and employee handbook Pre-employment drug testing and ongoing random testing required Must have access to a personal vehicle for non-work-related travel Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience Housing provided Company work vehicle provided Excellent Paid Time Off (PTO) package Comprehensive benefits package Stable, year-round full-time employment Opportunity to work with a diverse fleet of equipment and machinery Independent work environment with significant responsibility and autonomy Benefits Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
