About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: GI Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 2 years License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Must have 2 years of current experience. Must be able to pass EKG testing before the start date. NIHSS can be obtained after acceptance. Description: This position requires experience in the GI Lab/Endoscopy. On-call duties include 5:30 PM to 7:00 AM Monday through Friday and 24-hour coverage on weekends as needed. The patient care ratio is 1:1. Float assignments may be required in the event of low census. Travelers requesting time off during specified holidays or holiday weeks will not be accommodated. Local candidates within a specified distance are subject to different submission guidelines. Experience with charting systems is preferred. Candidates must have proficiency in administering conscious sedation and managing airway protocols. Familiarity with various endoscopic procedures such as ERCP, EGD, colonoscopy, and bronchoscopy is required. The unit typically sees a daily census of 35-50 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, and pharmacy. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Candidates should be prepared to handle a variety of patient diagnoses in the GI Lab setting. Special equipment used includes scopes for various procedures listed.
