Job Title Phlebotomist Position Description Draws blood from patients in a correctional hospital facility for analysis or other medical purposes. Location Wichita Falls Work details Pay Grade: Minimum 18.25, Maximum 20.50 Pay Basis: Hourly Job Type: Full Time Shift: Day Travel Required: None Requisition ID: 44507BR Major / Essential Functions Performs phlebotomy as required using aseptic techniques. Maintains specimen collection containers by monitoring expiration dates. Reports abnormal findings or processing errors to the charge nurse. Checks and ensures that laboratory equipment is properly functioning and maintains a temperature log. Properly uses Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to ensure continuity of care. Is active in Quality Assurance monitoring for laboratory equipment. Orders and maintains laboratory supplies. Properly utilizes the collection and preparation of specimens. Effectively participates in the overall goals of the Managed Care team. Responds to all requests in a timely manner as required. Supports the goal of the unit by attending meetings. Preferred Qualifications Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) through American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians or equivalent. CPR Certification. Required Qualifications High school diploma or general educational degree (GED); and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
