Overview: Our client is seeking a Senior Data Analytics Engineer Consultant to support the implementation of a new enterprise data platform and analytics environment. This role serves as the bridge between data engineering, business stakeholders, and reporting teams by transforming enterprise data into trusted, reporting-ready datasets and reusable business metrics. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Snowflake, advanced SQL, dimensional modeling, analytics engineering, and business intelligence solutions. This consultant will help establish enterprise reporting standards while enabling meaningful insights through curated datasets and scalable analytical models.

Key Responsibilities: Develop curated analytical models, dimensional structures, semantic-ready datasets, and reusable business logic for enterprise reporting. Write, optimize, test, and document complex SQL used for transformations, metrics, reporting, and analytical consumption. Translate business requirements into consistent dimensions, facts, measures, hierarchies, calculations, and reporting rules. Partner with business stakeholders, data stewards, analysts, and developers to define requirements and resolve conflicting data definitions. Develop and maintain documentation for business terms, calculations, lineage, source mappings, assumptions, and data usage guidelines. Implement automated testing for data quality, metric consistency, referential integrity, completeness, and regression prevention. Support reconciliation efforts and user acceptance testing by validating outputs against existing reports and source systems. Prepare Snowflake datasets and analytical models for Power BI and other reporting tools. Assist with semantic models, performance optimization, row-level security, and governed self-service reporting practices. Analyze and improve existing reporting solutions, analytical models, and data structures as assigned. Promote standardization and reuse of business logic across departments and reporting platforms. Transfer knowledge and best practices to analysts, developers, and support personnel.

Preferred Experience: Demonstrated experience in analytics engineering, business intelligence engineering, data warehousing, or related disciplines. Advanced SQL development and performance optimization skills. Experience developing analytical models in Snowflake or comparable cloud data platforms. Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, fact and dimension design, conformed dimensions, slowly changing dimensions, and enterprise metrics. Experience translating business and reporting requirements into scalable analytical solutions. Experience with automated testing, reconciliation, documentation, source control, and code review practices. Experience supporting Power BI reporting environments, semantic models, and performance optimization. Experience with dbt, Informatica, Snowflake-native transformation tools, or similar analytics engineering platforms. Experience with Oracle databases, reporting environments, or operational data stores is preferred. Experience supporting enterprise reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives. Snowflake, Power BI, analytics, or data modeling certifications are a plus.
