TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Iron Mountain, Michigan, 49801!

Job Title: Med Tele Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Telemetry experience (Acute Care experience) Description: The unit has 24 inpatient beds and can accommodate up to 10 observation/day surgeries. Patient-to-nurse ratios are 5:1 for day shifts and 6:1 for nights. LPNs assist on the unit, maintaining a team nursing approach with 2:7 ratios. Common diagnoses include NHP, cellulitis, UTI, COPD, GU, pacemaker, sepsis, and nursing home placements. Experience with TURPS-CBI is preferred but not mandatory. Limited resources are available onsite, and the RN must be comfortable with IV starts. Charge nurses have patient assignments and travelers may act as relief charge. There are nurse aides available on the unit. A hospitalist is present until 6 PM daily, followed by telemedicine services. Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7. Basic telemetry arrhythmia knowledge is necessary as RNs read their own strips. Shifts are 12 hours long, from 0700 to 1900 and 1900 to 0700, with no guaranteed blocking but an effort to accommodate self-scheduling. Weekend rotations are required every other weekend, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Holiday work is also required, typically 2 to 3 holidays per cycle. There may be a call or standby requirement, presenting opportunities for on-call work. Applicants must be flexible to float to similar units and care for varied patient populations. All clinicians must clock in and out while on the premises.
