Project Manager - Electric Distribution

As a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager, you’ll lead electric distribution design and engineering programs supporting local utility distribution system. This is a programbased role, not a oneoff project position—you’ll oversee a steady pipeline of distribution work that keeps the electric grid reliable, modern, and ready for future demand.You’ll partner closely with utility stakeholders, internal engineering and design teams, and external agencies to deliver highquality work—on time, on budget, and in line with client standards.What you’ll be responsible forThis role blends project delivery, client partnership, and team leadership.Lead a portfolio of electric distribution design projects and programs, including overhead and underground work, system upgrades, and modernization effortsOwn scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk across multiple concurrent projectsServe as a primary point of contact for the client, building trusted relationships through clear communication and consistent deliveryCoordinate work across designers, engineers, and technical leads, ensuring teams have clear priorities and directionOversee project financials, including forecasting, fee tracking, and change managementEnsure work complies with industry and client standards, permitting requirements, and regulatory expectationsSupport permitting and thirdparty coordination efforts (municipalities, DOTs, jointuse utilities) as neededProvide construction support and help resolve designrelated issues during buildFor Senior PMs: mentor other PMs and technical leads, help shape program strategy, and support growth of the client accountThe types of programs you’ll supportYour work may span several ongoing distribution initiatives, such as:Highvolume distribution design programs (repeatable work with defined standards and workflows)Voltage Optimization (VO) initiatives focused on system performance and efficiencyDistribution Automation (DA) projects, including device upgrades and grid modernizationMunicipality and DOTdriven relocations tied to roadway and infrastructure improvementsThese programs are longterm, fastmoving, and highly collaborative—ideal for PMs who enjoy structure, variety, and visible impact.You’ll thrive in this role if you:Enjoy managing multiple projects at once in a program environmentAre comfortable balancing client expectations, internal delivery, and financial performanceLike working closely with technical teams without needing to be the technical designer yourselfValue clear processes, strong standards, and continuous improvementWant to build longterm client relationships rather than jumping from project to projectHere’s what you’ll need:Project management experience supporting electric distribution or utility infrastructure programs, or other engineering/construction related spacesExperience managing scope, schedule, and budget in a consulting or utilityfacing environmentStrong communication skills and comfort working directly with utility clientsStrong leadership and team management skillsAbility to lead crossfunctional teams and keep work moving in a deadlinedriven environmentProficiency in forecasting and financial management, especially in a Fixed Fee and Unitized platform.In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and technical innovations.Nice to have:Prior experience working with large electric utilitiesFamiliarity with distribution design workflows, permitting, and construction supportExperience managing programbased or unitized workPMP or similar certificationWhy Join Us?At ENTRUST Solutions Group, a Leidos company, we are driven by a commitment to innovation, technical excellence, and delivering the critical infrastructure that powers and connects communities.
