Shift Manager

The Nothing Bundt Cakes (NbC) Shift Manager/Supervisor plays a key leadership role in ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality operations during assigned shifts. Acting as the on-site point of contact in the absence of senior management, the Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing team performance, upholding operational standards, and ensuring exceptional guest experience. This role bridges team execution with operational leadership, setting the tone for service, safety, and success. This role also embodies the NBC culture and brand standards that support setting the example for team members and ensuring outstanding client experiences.Primary Responsibilities:Lead and supervise NBC the daily shift operations of the store during scheduled shifts, ensuring consistent execution of standards and procedures.Ensure product inventory is in place and support the ordering of products according to standards.Provide direction, support, and guidance to team members while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.Maintain strong product knowledge to educate guests on NBC cakes, flavors, sizes, and complementary merchandise.Deliver outstanding guest service by modeling warm, attentive, and solution-oriented behaviors.Support the preparation and production and preparation of all products in the bakery, including baking, frosting, and packaging of cakes following proprietary recipes and food safety guidelines.Ensure production activities meet all safety and sanitation standards.Manage shift scheduling, delegate tasks, and ensure team members take legally compliant breaks and meal periods.Support with onboarding and training new team members; reinforce best practices and operational procedures.Maintain a calm and focused demeanor under pressure and during periods of high volume.Monitor food safety, quality, and sanitation standards, including compliance with health department regulations.Assist in food preparation, baking, packaging, and presentation of products, ensuring consistency and accuracy.Oversee opening and closing procedures, including checklists, cleaning duties, and shift reports.Handle guest concerns with professionalism, resolving issues promptly and escalating when appropriate.Maintain cash controls and reconcile registers; prepare daily financial reports as assigned.Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to management.Ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Proven ability to lead a team with confidence, empathy, and clarity.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.Excellent customer service and communication skills with a warm and positive attitude.Ability to perform precise, repetitive tasks requiring continuous hand, wrist, and arm movement.Working knowledge of point-of-sale systems and basic office/reporting tools.Basic math and cash handling accuracy and measurement units for accurate ingredient preparation.Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks efficiently.Attention to detail and commitment to upholding food safety standards.Core Values and Competencies:Servant’s HeartLeads by example, putting the needs of guests and team members first.Demonstrates integrity, humility, and approachability.Spirit of a ChampionTakes ownership of responsibilities and inspires accountability in others.Strives for excellence through continuous improvement and attention to detail.Genuine ConnectionsFosters an inclusive and respectful environment.Communicates with transparency and encourages team engagement.Qualifications:Must be at least 18 years old.Minimum 6 months of experience in food service, retail, hospitality, or a related customer-facing role; supervisory experience preferred.Current ServSafe or food handler certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.Must have flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business demand. #J-18808-Ljbffr
