Transportation Specialist

Job DutiesDirect the movement of cargo to and from commercial conveyances.Maintain accountability of incoming and outgoing cargo.Coordinate with commercial truck drivers to support planned operations.Serve as alternate Contracting Officer Representative and/or government timekeeper.Prepare and provide reports in accordance with the stevedore contract, local regulations and/or standard operating procedures.Monitor the stevedoring contract to ensure cargo operations are safe, equipment is operated efficiently, accurately, safely, and documentation is prepared accurately and timely.Investigate cargo overages, shortages, damages and improper shipments to determine the cause for loss and or damage.Authorize overtime, extra labor and order labor, and equipment to meet operational requirements, as provided by the stevedore contract.
