A professional services organization is seeking an Accounting Operations Manager to oversee daytoday accounting operations and lead a team of accounting professionals. This role is available in Indianapolis, Louisville, or Cincinnati and is ideal for an experienced accounting leader who enjoys managing workflows, people, and process improvement in a hybrid environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Manage and develop an accounting team, ideally overseeing 3 or more direct reports
- Coordinate monthend and yearend close activities
- Review and approve reconciliations, journal entries, and reports
- Establish and improve accounting processes, controls, and operational efficiencies
- Collaborate with finance, leadership, and other internal stakeholders
- Support audits and ensure proper documentation and controls are maintained
- Serve as a resource for accounting policy interpretation and best practices
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (required)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior people management or supervisory experience, preferably with 3+ direct reports
- Strong understanding of core accounting operations and internal controls
- Experience improving processes and managing accounting workflows
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Base salary range of $90K-$110K, depending on experience
- Hybrid work model with 2 days remote per week
- Choice of three major Midwest downtown office locations
