Network Engineer

Network EngineerThe Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and support of the organization's data center network infrastructure. This role ensures the reliability, scalability, and security of core network services that support enterprise applications, virtualization platforms, storage systems, disaster recovery, and cloud connectivity. The engineer works closely with systems administrators, software developers, and other various teams to maintain highly available network environments while planning for future growth.Responsibilities:Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise data center networking infrastructureConfigure and support core routing and switching platformsAdminister spine-leaf and traditional three-tier network architecturesImplement and maintain high availability technologies including MLAG/VPC, Port Channels/LACP, and dynamic routing protocols like BGPSupport data center virtualization platforms including VMwareImplement network security controls including ACLs, segmentation, and firewall integrationMaintain redundant network paths and disaster recovery connectivity between primary and secondary data centersMonitor network performance, capacity, and availability using enterprise monitoring platformsPerform firmware upgrades and maintenance while minimizing production impactTroubleshoot complex network outages affecting servers, storage, virtualization hosts, and enterprise applicationsDevelop and maintain network diagrams, standards, operating procedures, and technical documentationProvide Tier III escalation support for critical infrastructure incidentsParticipate in an on-call rotationOther duties as assignedTravel - <10%Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)3+ years of enterprise networking experience.2+ years supporting data center infrastructure.Strong understanding of spine-leaf architectureExperience with virtualization networking - VMwareFamiliarity with automation tools such as Ansible is a plusExperience with network monitoring and packet analysis toolsJob Type: Full-TimeLocation: Nacogdoches, TX (NacSpace - ERP - 167)
