Job Description The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive patient care and is accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using technology, therapeutic interventions, evidence-based practice, and coordination with the health team. Scope of Practice Assess, recognize, and address patients' psychological and physical needs. Foster quality care with the best interests of patients and families. Communicate compassionately and effectively. Assist in developing individualized treatment plans. Comply with evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines. Oversee care delivered by LPNs and/or CNAs. Participate in clinical team conferences. Follow hospital regulations, policies, and procedures. Posting Specifics Entry rate: depending on experience. Benefits: eligible. Shift: part-time night shift, weekends, holidays on a rotating basis. Department: ICU with floating to med/surg depending on census. Location: St James Hospital, Butte, MT. Minimum Qualifications BSN degree from an accredited program required within 4 years unless 15 years of acute care service. ASN/ADN nurses hired before September 1, 2014 exempt from the BSN requirement. Other nurses hired between September 2, 2014 and April 15, 2019 have 5 years to obtain a BSN. Current Montana Registered Nurse license. BLS certification upon hire. ACLS required within 9 months of hire; TNCC or TCAR within 12 months of transfer or hire. Must maintain TNCC/TCAR or equivalent recognized by the American College of Surgeons. Critical care experience highly preferred. Requirements Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team to achieve patient-focused outcomes. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, periodicals, and professional journals. Ability to write reports, present information, and respond to inquiries. Basic arithmetic skills and the ability to interpret rates, ratios, percentages, and graphs. Practical problem-solving skills in situations with limited standardization. Regular attendance during scheduled hours or shifts. Manual dexterity for operating equipment, documentation, lifting patients and supplies, and standing, walking, and moving equipment over varying weights. Clear verbal communication during emergency conditions. Compensation $33.38 to $79.73 per hour, dependent upon experience.
